Anselmo was George Michael's greatest love which unfortunately could not promise a happy ending.
Feleppa died due to AIDS
After secretly dating for six months, Feleppa went back to Brazil where he was diagnosed with HIV positive. This tragic news shattered the "Careless Whisper" hit-maker, George.

He told that he could not even share this painful experience with his family as they didn't even know about his sexuality.
Eventually, Anselmo's health condition worsen and he got terminally ill and later died from AID's related brain hemorrhage.

Feleppa’s death caused Michael to suffer in an emotional turmoil causing him enter a state of depression, which he described as “a deep black hole.”
To tribute his lost lover, George Michael wrote the number one single "Jesus To a Child" which was a big hit.
Mirro.co.uk reported that George Michael stated that the never wanted to feel that depth of emotion as it was so painful and he wanted Anselmo in heaven to be proud of the album "Older" which was released in 1996.

This legendary singer died peacefully at his home in Goring-on-Thames, Oxfordshire at the age of 53. He was in a relationship with his partner Fadi Fawaz who first found out that George was no more when he tried to wake him up on the cold Christmas Eve's morning.

The exact cause of death has not been revealed yet but according to his manager Michael Lippman, George died due to "heart failure".
