Amanda Jane Mealing is a British television and film actress. She is known for her role in "Holby City" and "Casualty". She began her professional acting at the age of 6, where she performed on BBC's "Julie Andrews special". Though Amanda was adopted, she is always equally loved and cared by her parents.
Amanda is a married woman and her spouse is Richard Sainsbury, a screenwriter. She has two children from her husband. Previously, she had an affair with an English drummer, percussionist, and songwriter, Martin Ditcham. In 2002, Mealing was diagnosed with breast cancer after she gave birth to her second child. She has now fully recovered and was asked to be the ambassador for Breast Cancer Care in early 2010. Currently, she and her husband live happily on a farm in Lincolnshire with their children.
