David Ward known as Dave is the president of a local charity, Easter Seals Society, and an American journalist. He has been the anchor of the weekday 6:00 pm newscast on KTRK-TV’s Eyewitness News in Houston, for more than 50 years. He joined KTRK-TV in 1966 as a reporter and photographer and was promoted to his current position as weekday evening anchor in 1968. He is currently the longest-running news anchor in American television, surpassing the late Hal Fishman in 2015. In 2007, Dave was awarded an Emmy for his exceptional work on an ABC-13 Special entitled, “Steve Tyrell: A Houston Standard”. In addition to his television and radio career, he has played an active role in establishing Houston Crime Stoppers, currently serving as President of the local Easter Society, and chairing the Public Affairs Advisory Board of the Houston Business Council. He is also recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records for his long tenure at the station. Dave announced that he will leave KTRK by the end of 2016.
