Draymond Green, an American professional basketball player from Golden State Warrior of National Basketball Association (NBA). He started his career right from his school days. As of now, he is playing as a power forward and became the first NBA player to record ten steals and five blocks. Currently, he is not married but is dating his longtime girlfriend, Jelissa Hardy.

Early Life and Education

Born as Draymond Jamal Green Sr. on 4th March 1990 in Saginaw, Michigan with the birth sign of Pisces. He is an American and belongs to African American ethnicity. He was raised by his parents Mary Babers and Wallace Davis along with his elder brother, Torrian Harris (junior basketball player).

Talking about his academic qualification, he attended Saginaw High School. After that, he graduated from Michigan State University.

Early Career

Green began his career playing for his high school for coach Lou Dawkins and scored 12 points and 11 rebounds per game in the season 2005-06. After that, he competed as a junior with the score of 25 points and 13 rebounds where he led the team to the Class A State Championship.

Later on, in November 2007, he played for Michigan State after signing a National Letter of Intent to play basketball. In the season 2007-08, playing for Saginaw High Trojans, he led his team to a victory with a 27-1 score that led him to rank number 4th in the nation by USA Today and a Class A State Championship. With such amazing playing skill, he became the captain of the Detroit Free Press All-State Dream Team.

Moreover, in the season 2008-09, he played as a freshman for Michigan State in more than 37 games with the average points of 3.3 and 3.3 rebounds per game. In the 2009 NCAA tournament championship, he did better than before with 8.5 points and 5.3 rebounds.

In the season 2009-10, he played as a sophomore in almost 37 games with the average 9.9 points and 7.7 rebounds and became one of the first players of Michigan State to be named as Big Ten Sixth Man of the Year. After that, he was awarded with numerous titles including MSU’s Most Improved Player, Chairman of the Boards and Antonio Smith Glue and Guts Awards and so on. By February, he had seven games with a double-double including the 17 points against Illinois.

Furthermore, in the season 2010-11, he made his first triple-double after following another teammate, Charlie Bell, and Magic Johnson. After that, in 2011 NCAA Men’s Divison I Basketball Tournament, he made his second triple-double and earned the third team in All-Big Ten honors.

In the season, 2011-12, he started as a senior and became the captain for Spartans for the Big Ten Championship and Big Ten Tournament Championship. During the same season, he was named as Big Ten Men’s Basketball Player of the week for the fourth time and also called as Big Ten Player of the Year after winning both of the championships.

In March 2012, he gave his third triple-double in the second round of 2012 NCAA Tournament against LIU-Brooklyn being the third player after Oscar Robertson and Magic Johnson who were the two triple-double record holder.

Professional Career

Green’s actual career started after he singed a three-year contract of $2.6 million with the Golden State Warriors being selected with 35th overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft. He then debuted for the team in a season opener in 2012-13 playing against the Phoenix Suns where he played for a minute with a foul.

By November, he played for more than 15-20 minutes per game and as a result gained a big role in the team which led the team to win 8 games out of 10. In December, he along with his team won the match against Champion Miami Heat 97-95. In 2013, while playing against Denver Nugget in 2013 NBA Playoff, the team lost the game 97-95 but won the first game in San Antonio against San Antonio Spurs 100-91.

In the season 2013-14, he lost over 20 pounds and gave a great performance as a sophomore. In the same season, while playing against Los Angeles Clippers, he was disqualified from the game after a flagrant 2 foul on the opposite team’s forward player, Blake Griffin. After which he was fined $15000 by NBA for failing to leave the court in time and later on made his highest point of his career with 20 points.

In the same season, he replaced his teammate David Lee due to his injury but lost two of the games on November 9 and 11. After that, he made his highest career score with 31 points and won over the Chicago Bulls  112-102.

After the college career, he made his first triple-double with 16 points in 2015 and won against the Toronto Raptors. He was then awarded as first runner-up with the titles of Defensive Player of the Year and the Most Improved Player. After that, he became the top six players with a triple-double along with the players Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, James Worthy, LeBron James and Tim Duncan.

In the season, 2015-16, he extended his contract up to five years with signing amount of $82 million. After that, he led the team to start the season winning the first game with the score 10-0. He landed back to back triple doubles that season. He then became the first player since Nicolas Batum in 2012 to make the record of five and more in all the major five statistical categories.

After numerous games, he became a reserved player for the 2016 NBA All-Star Game after his first selection in All-Star. In March, he recorded his 12th triple-double playing against Philadelphia 76ers. Moreover, he became the first player in the NBA to make 1000 points, 500 rebounds, 500 assists, 100 steals and 100 blocks after winning against Utah Jazz.

During the same season, his team lost first and second games of the series in the Western Conference but won the 3rd game against the Oklahoma City Thunder 4-1. At last, despite making 32 points, the team lost the series in seven games.

Furthermore, in the season 2016-17, he opened the season against the San Antonio Spurs making 18 points. In December, he made his season best with 20 points against the Houston Rockets but lost the game. In January, he was named as a Western Conference All-Star for the 2017 NBA All-Star Game after winning several matches.

In the 2017 NBA Finals, he led the team to win the second championship in the three years with 4-1 after winning over Cleveland Cavaliers. At the end of the season, he was awarded the NBA Defensive Player of the Year being the first player in the history of Warrior to get the title.

At the starting of the season 2017-18, he came as an opener playing against Houston Rockets but had to exit because of a strained left knee after making 13 points in the second half. His team lost the match.

Personal Life

Green is in a long-term relationship with his girlfriend, Jelissa Hardy. She was a model signed with Model Mayhem from 2009 to 2013. Like her man, she was also a basketball player in her high school but later on, she had to leave because of an injury.

The pair supports each other in their career. Hardy is always with her man in every step which also inspired him to get to the point where he is today. Despite several years of the relationship, they are not yet married but share a strong bond.

Moreover, the couple has two children together one from the previous relationship of Hardy, Kyle Dior and another is their own named, Draymond Jr.

Besides Green’s relationship, in 2016, he was arrested for assaulting Jermaine Edmondson at Rick’s bar(with whom he had confrontation a night before). Not only this he even poked Edmondson's chest and punched him in the face. For this, Green was arrested and fined a bail of $200 as well.

As of 2017, Green collected the salary of $11.13 million and an estimated net worth of $17.5 million. Moreover, he has an annual salary of $16.4 million and received $1.2 million from the endorsement.

He owns three luxurious cars worth $1.8 million and owns an apartment in Emeryville, California. Whereas, he also spent $9.4 million in the personal investment. In 2015, he donated $3.1 million to his university, Michigan State University to fund for the endorsement program for the scholarship.
