An American actor and filmmaker who is better known as an action hero, for his roles such as Martin Riggs in action pack movie Lethal Weapon buddy cop film series and Max Rockatansky. He is a son of Hutton Gibson and Anne Patricia. Her mother was an Irish and due to that, he holds dual citizenship as Irish and American. He completed his high school from St Leo's Catholic College in Wahroonga. After that, he attended Australian National Institute of Dramatic Art. He debuted in the film industry through 1977 film Summer City for which he was paid only $400. He founded Icon Entertainment, a production company in 1968. Gibson was cast in World War I drama Gallipoli (1981) for which he was awarded a Best Actor Award from the Australian Film Institute. He also starred in epic historical drama film Braveheart and for his outstanding acting, he was awarded Academy Award for Best Director and Golden Globe award.
