Valerie Bertinelli's Married Life: Know About Her Husband and Children

Valerie Bertinelli has been wedded two times in her life. Her first marriage was with Eddie Van Halen on April 11, 1981. After many years of living together as husband and wife, the duo ended their marriage on December 20, 2007.

From their marriage, they have a son, Wolfgang Van Halen, born March 16, 1991. Their kid, Wolfgang, is a musician and bassist.

Relationship And Marriage With Tom Vitale

Before her divorce from Halen, Valerie Bertinelli met a man in 2004 who later became her partner, and that man was none than Tom Vitale. Tom is a non-celebrity and is a financial planner by profession. 

Reportedly, the duo first met through Bertinelli's brother Patrick Bertinelli. They began dating even before the divorce from the late rock musician as the two were living separately.

On their trip to Florence, Italy, Tom proposed to his sweetheart Valerie and Tom, which the actress accepted, and they got engaged in March 2010. 

It did not take long for the duo to tie the knot, as less than a year later, the couple walked down the aisle. Bertinelli's trainer said in an interview, "She's thrilled to be with the man she loves."

The pair exchanged wedding vows in front of some 100 guests at their home in Malibu on January 01, 2011. Among the attendees were her son, Wolfgang, and her first husband, Eddie.

The legendary musician was battling throat cancer, and later lung cancer which Valerie revealed had spread to his brain. On October 06, 2020, Halen died as a result of a stroke at Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica, California. 

Divorce And Separate Trials

Valerie Bertinelli and her husband, Tom Vitalie, lived a normal and happy life in each other's company for many years. However, the marriage could not last forever, and after ten years of living as husband and wife, the duo decided to part ways.

The Golden Globe Award winner filed for divorce on November 24, 2021. She cited "irreconcilable differences" as the main reason for their parting ways. Their divorce became official almost a year later, on September 29, 2022.

Although their marriage dissolved legally, Vitale was not done with it. He filed a case in court requesting to be paid $50,000 per month in spousal support and around $200,000 in legal fees.

The Food Network star, however, requested a separate trial to review the prenup with Tom. She asserted that their prenup contained a "waiver of temporary and permanent spousal support."
