Gary Oldman's Son Gulliver Oldman, 20 Pens A Letter Defending His Father Against The Domestic Abuse Allegations Days After His Oscar Win

  • Actor Gary Oldman's son, Gulliver Oldman has written a letter defending his father against the domestic abuse accusations.
  • Oldman's ex-wife Donya Fiorentino accused the actor of hitting her with a telephone in front of their young children in 2001.

  • Their son, Gulliver, on the other hand, declined the accusation saying the incident ''did not happen'' and claimed his father is innocent in the allegation.

 Actor Gary Oldman's ex-wife Donya Fiorentino resurfaced the domestic abuse allegation against him after his Oscar win on Sunday. Fiorentino referenced the alleged abused to TMZ during her ironic congratulation to her ex-husband.

 Fiorentino told TMZ,

Congratulations, Gary and congratulations to the Academy for awarding not one but two abusers with Oscars. I thought we had evolved. What happened to the #MeToo movement?

 Now, the Darkest Hours star's son, Gulliver Oldman, 20, has released a lengthy statement slamming former model and his mother Donya Fiorentino of false allegations.

The letter by Gulliver was first posted on Gary Oldman fan account which was later proved to be authentic by Focus Feature.

Gulliver said in the statement,

It has been troubling and painful to see these false allegations against my father being written about again, especially after this was all settled years ago. There is good reason that these specific articles and accusations subsided years ago.

He continued,

I can see how coming out with a statement to combat an allegation must look. However, I was there at the time of the ‘incident,’ so I’d like to make this radiantly clear: it didn’t happen. Anyone who says it did is lying

Goldman added referencing that his father was granted full custody of him and his younger brother, Charlie,

Custody of children is not given to a wife beater, and under most circumstances, hardly ever a man. My having lived, full time with my father should be in itself, proof enough.

 In early February, the former model Donya Fiorentino told Daily Mail that her four-year-long marriage to Oldman was a total ''nightmare'' where she also claimed Oldman beat her with a telephone after an argument in front of their sons in 2001.
