Lisa J. Ling is a journalist, author and television presenter, best known as the host of Our America with Lisa Ling on OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network and This is Life with Lisa Ling on CNN. She is the daughter of Doug, a Chinese immigrant and Mary Mei-yan, a Taiwanese immigrant from Taiwan. She received an honorary doctorate from National University, in the year 2009.
