Alexis Bledel born on 16th September 1981 in Houston, Texas and raised in Mexico City is a daughter of Nanette Bledel, a gift processor as well as a flight attendant and Martin Bledel, her father. Eric David Bledel is her younger brother.
Bledel studied at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts for a year. Later she attended Catholic St. Agnes Academy in Houston. She grew up in a Spanish household and learned English only when she was in school.
She was a shy girl and in order to overcome that nervousness, her mother asked her to take up theater classes.
