An American renowned television journalist, anchor, reporter and commentator who is widely known for her work with NBC News. She is daughter to Cecile and Sydney Mitchell. She was raised in Jewish family. She graduated from New Rochelle High School and holds a degree in Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature from University of Pennsylvania. In starting of her career she worked as director of student radio station WXPN. Professionally she worked as a reporter at KYW radio. Early Life and Education of Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell was born on October 30, 1946, in New Rochelle, New York to Cecile Mitchell and Sydney Mitchell. She was raised in a Jewish family along with two brothers, Arthur Mitchell and Susan Greenstein.
Her father was the chief executive officer and her mother was an administrator at the New York Institute of Technology in Manhattan.
Mitchell completed her graduation from New Rochelle High School. In 1967, she receives a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature from the University of Pennsylvania where she served as news director of student radio station WXPN.
After completing her graduation she hired as a reporter at KYW radio. Later, Mitchell rose to fame as the station's City Hall correspondent and also reported for sister station KYW-TV.

In 1978, Andrea joined NBC News as a general correspondent based in Washington and named NBC"s energy correspondent.
She appeared on Meet the Press as a panelist and substitute host. She first covered the White House for NBC News. Later she served as a chief n congressional correspondent.
Mitchell was a host of the NBC show ‘The Mitchell Report’, which was broadcast in 2000 election year. At this time, she was the lead NBC News correspondent covering Hillary Rodham Clinton’s race for the Senate.
