Early life
Iglesias, born as Gabriel Jesus Iglesias is youngest of six children to a single mother. He was born on July 15, 1976, in San Diego, California. He is an American and belongs to Mexican heritage.
Iglesias grew up in Riverside, Corona, Santa Ana, Baldwin Park and Compton before settling in section 8. His childhood and most of his youth were spent there in low-income housing in Long Beach. Gabriel was an average student in his school and had a keen interest in comedy since his childhood days.
Career
Before doing comedy, Iglesias used work for a cell phone company in Los Angeles. Despite the work, his dream was to become a comedian. He entered the industry in the year 1997, despite his mother's advice to continue with his job for financial stability.

Iglesias is unmarried yet. He is in a romantic relationship with his partner and shared a son together. He is living with his girlfriend Claudia Valdez and their son, Frankie.
The couple was reportedly first spotted attending A Wish For animal benefit at laugh factory in January 2008. But, their relationship is said to have started a couple of months ago.
Talking about his son Frankie, Iglesias is not his biological father. Frankie is the son born from Claudia’s past relationship. However, he has been a father figure to Frankie ever since he began dating Claudia.
He overcame depression and alcohol addiction back in 2018.
