Allie Spillyards & Husband Blake Hanson Are College Sweethearts
It's a great love story for journalist Allie Spillyards and her husband Blake Hanson who is also a news anchor by profession. Spillyards and her partner have been together for a decade. But, how did this milestone for Spillyards start?
Well, Allie's love story is one of a kind. Spillyards had known Blake for more than two years not knowing he was the one she would end up with for the rest of her life. Spillyards and her partner both attended the University of Missouri.
Both Allie and Blake were journalist students and had known each other as just schoolmates. However, that later changed when the two worked together during their senior year before the summer for the evening news where Allie and Blake worked as a producer and news anchor.
Needless to say, Hanson was impressed with Spillyards and wanted to get to know her more. So, the Fox 4 News anchor decided to shoot his shot and had his luck when he invited Spillyards to hang out with his and friends.
Likewise, the rest is history as Blake too was successful to charm his crush, and Allie started having second thoughts about the guy she had barely known this whole time. Little did they know they would date for the next five years to tie the knot.
Spillyards & Husband Hanson Had A Fairytale Wedding
That's right, even after parting ways after graduating college, Allie Spillyards and her boyfriend turned fiance Blake Hanson continued to work on their relationship through the ups and downs of their life and career.
And, the lovebirds' engagement was hella romantic too, something Hanson planned to propose on their weekend getaway to Washington at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, Spillyards' favorite place in the city.
Hanson didn't hesitate to get on his knee and pop the question with a diamond ring. Spillyards happily said yes. Not long after their emotional and thoughtful engagement, Spillyards married now-husband Hanson on 9th April 2016 at her hometown at the Loft Warehouse Weddings nearby White Rock Lake.
The bride and groom chose vendor Lottie Fowler who also planned Spilyards' wedding, to design their big day. Not to mention, their sister who is a chef also was a big help with the wedding menu where they served boneless fried chicken alongside gourmet mac and cheese topped with bacon and truffle oil.
But, the main attraction of the wedding was obviously the bride and groom who looked stunning as Allie donned in a Bella Bridesmaids' sleeveless white gown while Hanson rocked grey suits paired with a polka dot tie.
Spillyards' big day was also an emotional one as they played over the speech of her late grandfather from the reporter's cousin's wedding. What a day, it was for Allie, indeed.
Spillyards and Hanson are still married to this day. The couple, however, is yet to start a family of their own.
