The 43-year-old reality star Chip admitted ending their popular track record and home design show is a risky deal in itself. He added,

You give up a show at essentially the height of its popularity. It took a lot of thought from Jo and my perspective. We’re excited about it and also sad at the same time.

Chip Gaines also shared, the husband and wife both want to spend their free time together and with their four children; Drake, Ella, Duke, and Emmie Kay. Apparently, Chip explained their new plans is to have no plans at all for the next few months.

He said,

We want to take a sincere whole six, 12 months off. Whatever the time period looks like, and kind of catch our breath. These last five years have been quite a whirlwind.

Joanna also expressed her views agreeing her husband’s words:

The last five years, we’ve had these crazy deadlines. These crazy schedules. Just spontaneous with the kids, not be so scheduled is what I’m excited about.

In October, the reality couple announced the fifth season of the popular HGTV show will be the last where they cited the security issue for its closure.
