After the doctor, he started dating another unnamed man and might still be in a relationship with him. Davis also shared that he and his boyfriend attended several red carpet events together but didn't disclose the name of any of his partners.

He wrote in his book The Soundtrack of My Life where he revealed his sexuality. In the book he wrote:

After my second marriage failed, I met a man who was also grounded in music. Having only had loving relationships and sexual intimacy with women, I opened myself up to the possibility that I could have that with a male, and found that I could.

He continued:

I’m still attracted to women. You don’t have to be only one thing or another. For me, it’s the person.”

David has currently maintained his love life private. He is probably still in a relationship with his unnamed partner or perhaps he's still single.
