The viewers of Netflix's recent romantic hit series, Love Is Blind literally rated Jessica Batten as the villain of the show for sharing wine with her dog and calling another man hot in front of her own fiance. But, what everyone else failed to realize is that Batten is not as bad as she seemed to be and that she was just a character of a reality show.

The Illinois native Jessica Batten, among one of the contestants alongside Damian Powers, Giannina Gibelli, Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton, fell in love with fellow contestant Matt Bernett she met inside the pod on Love Is Blind, the kind of a reality show where hopeless romantic falls in love with people through communication only. The contestants (also Kelly Chase, Kenny Barnes, Carlton Morton, Diamond Jack are also not allowed to see each other faces until they find their compatible partner and become engaged.
In the case of Batten, she was tangled up in love triangle with the fellow participant, Mark Cuevas who eventually later became his fiance. Batten had mixed feelings between these two fine men. But, Jessica was bold enough when she honestly came forward to speak the truth that she didn't love Mark.
Poor Jessica, after breaking Mark's heart, she was as well as only a moment away from having her own heartbroken when Matt confessed he liked fellow contestant Amber Pike. Lucky for Jessica, Mark forgave and accepted her. But, the drama was only about to begin.

The whole ten episodes showcased Jessica Batten assuring that she liked Mark despite their age difference of ten years. But, actions speak louder than words. Jessica gets drunk and tries to flirt with Matt at the party, compliments Matt and calls him sexy whilst she is literally on the same bed with Mark.

Clearly, she wasn't in love with Mark and shouldn't have done him dirty.
Three months later, Jessica turned down the marriage vows when the officiator asks her if she would marry Mark leaving him standing at the altar with a sad face. Fans became furious with the final episode, of course. But, what fans also failed to realize is the fact that Jessica did the right thing. Marriage is no joke. Imagined, if she has said 'Yes' just for the sake of the show to prove love is blind. It would have destroyed both of their lives.
Additionally, Jessica apologized to Mark and his mother and didn't date any man for a long time. She has moved on though and has been seeing men. But, Jessica claims it's not serious.
Meanwhile, reports also claim that Jessica who already made it obvious that he preferred men a year or five years older than her, wanted to leave the show after Matt rejected her. However, she needed to pay a price of $500,000 to Netflix in order to go home. Thus, she decided to stay.
