Popular American doctor and children author, Dr. Kevin Gendreau slimmed down to half his size since he started his weight loss journey in 2016. And, what an amazing weight loss transformation it has been for the doctor that he lost 125 pounds in only two years, as he went from weighing 306 Ibs to weighing 185 Ibs.

As a doctor himself, he was obese and addicted to eating unhealthy and junk food. Matter of fact, Gendreau only started to lose his weight after the death of his sister who passed away from ovarian cancer.

Kevin's father died of skin cancer when he was a medical student. And it was after being unable to cope with the death of his father, he found solace in overeating that turned him into an obese person.

The result of his obesity? The Massachusetts resident who began stress eating in his mid-20s was then diagnosed with high cholesterol, hypertension and sleep apnea.

Kevin knew he needed to make a change to improve his health and weight. And realizing that his sisters' children needed him more than anyone, it was when his motivation to weight loss was born.

Gendreau Ditched Carbs & Followed Intermittent Diet

Kevin Gendreau focused on the 16/8 intermittent diet, a kind of diet program that revolves around fasting and gives you a pattern of time to eat. As for Dr. Gendreau, he fasted for sixteen hours every day and only ate between the rest of the eight hours.

Besides, the doctor also cut off carbs and limited the consumption of calories to 1700 per day. Carbs and calories are not fattening but eating them at a high portion without doing any physical body movement can lead to a high risk of weight gain.

Besides, carbs and high-calorie food, Kevin also ditched unprocessed and junk food from his plate. The doctor actually added more protein-based food such as chicken breast, fresh vegetables, and fruits, nuts and non-fat Greek yogurt which is highly recommended to anyone on a mission for weight loss.

Also making sure to see his progress, Dr. Gendreau observed his weight numbers through a helpful weight loss application. But, interestingly, Gendreau rarely ever stepped a foot inside the gym. He majoritively only credits diet on the success of his weight loss.

With such drastic weight loss transformation, Gendreau didn't only keep his promise as an uncle to take care of her children that he made to his sister, but also inspired many.
