He won a silver medal in the 400m at 2007 World Championships. Participating in the 2008 Olympic, he won the finals opposite to Jeremy Wariner with a personal-best of 0.99 secs.
Eventually, he broke the Olympic record in the relay with the American team. It was disclosed that he failed three drugs tests on 22 April 2010 and accepted a provisional suspension.
Similarly, he was the number one qualifier at the 2012 Olympic Trials. He, however, faced an injury he pulled up in a qualifying heat of the 400m at the London Olympics and couldn't finish the game.
