They exchanged their vows in a wedding ceremony held at Stanford Memorial Church in Palo Alto, California performed by The Rev. Susan Scott.

How did they first meet?
It's quite an interesting story about how this adorable couple first met. They met during a one-day trip to New York from Washington, D.C. where, Margaret who is not only an American political commentator but also a political strategist, media personality, feminist, gay rights activist, and author, was sent to interview and join Rudy Giuliani's PAC as a fundraiser.

In an interview with ModernLuxury, Margaret shared her memories of when she first time met John confessing it was love at first sight to her.
She said:
"For me, it was love at first sight. In the summer of 2006, I was on a day trip to NYC from Washington, D.C. (where I’d been living while working at the White House for the Bush administration), interviewing to join Rudy Giuliani’s PAC as a fundraiser, when John, who was exactly my type (everyone has a type; mine’s medium-to-dark skin, dark hair, and sparkling eyes) waltzed in with all the flair and command only a Manhattanite can muster."
Later, when departing from D.C., due to a weather problem, Margaret had to stay back in D.C. as her flight was canceled and that's when her recruiter asked John who was a close friend of his, asked him to retrieve her and find her somewhere to stay.
Hence, they ended up having dinner together and a very good talk.
Later they started working together which eventually led them to fall for each other. Since then, the couple has had a fairy tale love life and now a happily married life together.
The lovely couple is having the best times of their life and they have been inseparable since they first met. Margaret loves posting pictures of her husband on her official Instagram page.
Family Life and Children
The couple has been blessed with two adorable kids: Jake and Toula. Their first child is a son, Jack Avlon born in 2013 and after two years they gave birth to their second child, a daughter Toula Lou Avlon born in 2015.
The wonderful family of four lives happily together in California.
They are seen spending a lot of family time together and it seems they have a lot of fun making memories.
