Inside Melissa Joan Hart's Married Life: Everything to Know

Melissa Joan Hart is married to Mark Wilkerson: The pair are doting parents of three children: Complete story here!

Best recognized for playing the titular characters in beloved shows like Clarissa Explains It All, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and Melissa & Joey, Melissa Joan Hart is a renowned small-screen star. Since becoming a household face with Clarissa Explains It All, in 1991, Melissa has branched her career into various showbiz fields; she is also a producer, director, and businesswoman.

Hart attracts massive appreciation and media traction after the actress revealed she helped children and educators flee the gruesome Nashville school shooting on March 27. The actress reveals she and her husband were at their kids' school for a conference when the shooting happened at a school nearby. "So this is our second experience with a school shooting with our kids being in close proximity," says Hart, who resides in Nashville with her husband and their three children.

Aside from her successful run as an actress and her similarly thriving hold in other fields, Melissa is also a happy and outspoken wife and mother. The former child star hosts her podcast, What Women Binge, where she often touches on topics like relationships and motherhood. And although a happy conjugal life is one more thing that everyone desires, Melissa isn't afraid to tell you the work that goes into keeping a marriage working. "It's basically not about, whether or not you fight, it's [about] how you fight," the actress once said.

The Sabrina: The Teenage Witch actress is in an enduring marriage with singer Mark Wilkerson, but the journey hasn't been all bed of roses. Melissa recently revealed how she and her husband have been in and out of couples therapy throughout their marriage. "We've been in and out of therapy and we really enjoy that because it just helps us understand each other better even after 20 years," said the actress, who shares three children with Wilkerson.

Although the pair didn't put it that way, it was definitely love at first sight for Hart and Mark, who crossed paths twenty years ago at the Kentucky Derby. Hart recalls seeing a potential future husband in Wilkerson, who was as smitten with the actress, although he played it cool. The twosome started dating soon after their first meet-cute and within one year, they were married. Melissa and Mark tied the knot on July 19, 2003, and much of the wedding footage was televised on the ABC miniseries, Tying the Knot.

"The most memorable part of my wedding was during the vows," the actress-turned-producer said after their wedding. An emotional Melissa recalled, "Mark was crying so hard and we were supposed to put our heads down, but his nose had filled up." The Melissa and Joey actress has been open about some of the most challenging parts of her marriage with Wilkerson. The pair apparently don't share concurring views on everything.

"When we know there is an election coming up and whatnot, [we know] some things are going to get a little wild," Hart says while revealing their opposing political stance. Hart's advice for keeping it going despite the differences is "finding a common ground" and  "focusing on the same goals", which for the spouses are their three beautiful boys.

Hart is certainly the better-known celebrity in their relationship, but Wilkerson is a star in his own right. Mark is best known for headlining the alternative-rock band Course of Nature, with Sean Kipe, Jackson Eppley, and Shane Lenzen O'Connell in the early 2000s. The band had moderate success throughout the 2000s before disbanding permanently in 2011. Wilkerson hasn't ventured into any musical project since then but has collaborated with his wife a few times, like their fashion line, King of Harts, in 2015.

Hart and Wilkerson welcomed their first son, Mason, three years after their wedding in January 2006. The twosome was blessed with two more sons, Braydon Hart Wilkerson, in 2008, and Tucker McFadden Wilkerson, in 2012. At 17, 15, and 10, there isn't anything interesting to know about Hart's sons, but the actress will shed a light on her motherhood journey any given day. For starters, the No Good Nick actress is upset her once little sons are growing up fast.

"They're getting huge," Hart said, adding, "my oldest is driving and it's really upsetting." Hart shared that her oldest son is a licensed pilot and is now helping his two brothers develop some interests in machinery and engineering. "The younger two I'm more afraid of driving. But it's a loss of their childhood when they start driving, which is weird," Hart explains.
