The Eagles were 4.5 points favorite team at the kick off of the Sunday evening's match. Jake Elliott hit a 25-yard field goal in opening the scoreboard for Eagles. Patriots' Stephan Gostkowski hit a 26-yard goal to level the score with the Eagles. However, Alshon Jeffrey put the Eagles ahead with the first touchdown of the match in the 1st quarter.
LeGarrette Blount covered 21-yard for the second touchdown of the match which led the Eagles by 15-3 in the 2nd quarter.
Eagles were just one point ahead of the Patriots in the mid of the 4th quarter, but Zack Ertz's 11-yard touchdown and Jake Elliott's 46-yard goal with three minutes remaining broke the Patriots title defense.
Eagles beat Minnesota Vikings on January 22 in making their place in the Super Bowl for the first time since 2005, when they lost the title to Patriots in Super Bowl XXXIX.
