The United Kingdom, on the other hand, blaming Russia for the attack, said it would expel 23 Russian diplomats, the biggest single expulsion in last three decades.

After Russian foreign ministry announced the expulsion, the British Prime Minister Theresa May said on Saturday that Russia's dismissal of British envoys doesn't ''change the facts of the matter'' of the poisoning.

Russia's response doesn't change the facts of the matter - the attempted assassination of two people on British soil, for which there is no alternative conclusion other than that the Russian State was culpable

Before, former Russian agent Skripal, 66, and his daughter Yulia, 33, were found unconscious outside a shopping center in Salisbury. Later, it was found that the father-daughter duo was poisoned with a military-grade nerve agent.

According to Aljazeera, Skripal betrayed Russian agents to British intelligence before he was arrested in Moscow in 2004. Later, he was sent to England in exchange for the captured Russian spies.
