Sherra Wright, ex-wife of late basketball playerLorenzen Wright was charged with his murder, seven years later the death of the player. The 46-year-old was taken into custody in Riverside, California and charged with conspiracy to kill her former husband.
Not only this, another defendant, Billy R Turner, a deacon at the church the former pair used to attend, was also arrested and charged with first-degree murder on December 5 but he pleaded not guilty.
Lorenzen mother, Deborah Marion had accused Sherra Wright previously of her connection with the death of her son and when the Memphis Polic Department took her Deborah leaped with joy and stated,
"Thank you Jesus! Thank you Jesus! They got her! They got her! They need to bury her.’’
After found missing for several days, Lorenzen decomposing body was found in suburban Memphis on July 28, 2010 and was found shot multiple times. Since then, the investigation regarding his murder has been going on and it has become one of the most high-profile unsolved cases.
Sherra and Lorenzen together share six children and Deborah accused Sherra of killing her son to get his $ 1 million life insurance money. Recently, the police had found a gun used in the assassination in a lake near Walnut, Mississippi, around 75 miles east of Memphis, which became the key to this investigation.
