Death is not the opposite of life but a part of it. Australian journalist Rebecca Wilson died at the age of 54, after a long private battle with cancer. The 54-year-old had spent more than two decades across broadcast and print media. Most of you already know about her and her professional career. You might have known that Rebecca Wilson was married a woman but did you know that she was married twice and has two children. Let us find more about her personal life.

Rebecca Wilson’s married life

The Late Journalist Rebecca Wilson was married twice. Firstly, she was married to television producer Howard Scare and has two children: Two Sons. 

After many years of togetherness, they got a divorce because of the personal differences and misunderstandings.

After the separation with Television producer, she again tied her knot with Former News Limited chief Executive John Hartigan.

The Couple got married in 2012 but only after spending four successive years together. John Hartigan wife left her. She passed away last month. Rebecca’s husband Hartigan was so emotional with his wife’s death and gave a heartfelt condolence at her funeral.

Rebecca Wilson’s Children

As we already know, Wilson was blessed with two children from her first husband Howard Scare. Two sons: Tom Scare and Will Scare. Though their parents got separated but both her son loved their mother very much.

During the time of her funeral both son were presented. Her elder son Tom scare said she had taught him many important lessons in the life that helped him to be a better person. He recollected a lot of old memories.

Wilson’s younger son has many beautiful memories with her mom. He thanked his mother for teaching the most valuable lesson of life.

Rebecca’s died with breast cancer

Rebecca died at 54 after losing her long battle with breast cancer. She passed away peacefully in Sydney surrounded by her loved ones.

She proved the world that women can equally play an important role in journalism as her male counterparts. She was a strong woman but sadly she was not able to beat cancer

Rebecca has supported breast cancer research for a long time. Her family said she kept her cancer in a secret way.

Not even her family member knew about breast cancer. Her funeral was held at St Andrew's Cathedral on 14th October 2016.

Rebecca’s Professional Life & Awards

An Award-winning Journalist Rebecca worked for Channel 10 Brisbane, where she provided details regarding the Brisbane Commonwealth Games, the Seoul Olympics, and rugby league.

Beside that she worked for ABC Television as a host and correspondent Saturday Afternoon Sports show, and later she described as” the most interesting time in my career”. She was a regular panelist on sports Night on sky News Australia.

In 2013, she was a joint finalist in the walker awards for Excellence in Journalism in Print Media. The following year she was awarded the joint finalist in the Kennedy awards for excellence in New south wales in investigating reporting category.
