Teacher in Illinois named Sarah L. Myer, 41 a special education and math teacher Sentenced to Ten Years in Prison On Charges of Sexual Relationship With One of Her Students. Details in With Pictures

Mother of five and special education math teacher, Sarah L. Myer of Garden Prairie was arrested and sentenced to 10 years in prison in Poplar Grove, Illinois.

The 41-year-old pleaded guilty to having sex with a male student twice who is in high school who turned the teacher to the police claiming they had sex multiple times between 2016 and 2017.

 A special education and math teacher at North Boone High School in Poplar Grove, Illinois has been charged with alleged sexual assault of a high school student. Sarah Myers was charged with two counts of criminal assault- Class 1 felony penalized by four to 15 years in prison, reported by Boone County Sheriff's Department.

Although the police department claimed that the student, who requested to remain anonymous, was not the special education student of Sarah. She too admitted to having sexual relations with the boy multiple times between November 2016 and April 2017.

Illinois has strict sexual assault laws and sentences and the sentence can be stretched to a minimum of 30-60 years or throughout life if the judge verdicts it's suitable.

 The boy reported the North Boone School District officials who alerted the Sheriff's Department. A search warrant was executed for investigation in the 6800 block of Clarence Street in Garden Prairie where Sarah lived and she was held in custody. 

Further investigation about the case is still going on and the Sheriff reports that additional charges are possible.

Myers is being held in Boone County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
