The injured 'walking injured' were not injured severely and were reportedly treated at the scene where 16 cars piled up on the snowy motorway.

The Manchester Fire took to their Twitter after the crash announcing the closure of M66 shortly after the crash.

Met Office, United Kingdom's national weather service, warned its citizens to brace themselves as the worst blizzards since 1962 were set to hit the kingdom. Met Office claimed the amount of snow forecast could be the biggest single fall since 1962-63 winter.

The Storm Emma has caused mayhem across the UK due to which hundreds of flights up and down the country were canceled.
