A Place In The Sun Presenter Jonnie Irwin Reveals Terminal Cancer; Has Short Time to Live With His Wife And Kids

Jonnie Irwin hopes announcing his terminal diagnosis will inspire everyone to make the most of every day. The 48-years old told he has just six months to live following his cancer diagnosis.

The television holiday estate agent, Jonnie Irwin, had kept his illness private until now. Irwin is best known for Escape To The Country, and A Place In The Sun recently revealed his lung cancer. Although he was given six months to live, he doesn't know how long he can live.

Further, the TV presenter said he hopes to share his illness will inspire people to make the most of everyday life. The 48-year-old who presents the BBC's Escape To The Country and Chanel 4's A Place In The Sun had spread terminal cancer to his brain.

"I don't know how long I have left," the guy said. In August 2020, in Italy, his vision became blurry while driving his vehicle. Later, he disclosed the early sign of his cancer while working on A Place In The Sun.

"Within a week of flying back from filming, I was being given six months to live. I had to go home and tell my wife, who was looking after our babies, that she was on her own pretty much. That was pretty. That was devastating. All I could do was apologise to her. I felt so responsible," Jonnie revealed to the Sun.

Additionally, Jonnie is the devoted father of three kids, Rex, Rafa, and Cormac shared with his wife, Jessica. "It's got to the point now where it feels like I'm carrying a dirty secret; it becomes a monkey on my back," he continued.

Also, Mr. Irwin decided to work as much as possible. "I hope that shaking that monkey off, I might inspire people who are clinging with life-limiting prospects to make the most of every day, to help them see that you can live a positive life, even though you are dying," Jonnie added, who have life-limiting prospects.

"Jonnie. I get so much joy watching you & your boys on here. You're one helluva Flippin amazeballs presenter, and I'm sending so much love & strength," former Homes Under The Hammer wrote and thanked him for sharing his news.

Not to miss, the co-presenters and friends of the television host had a group to support him after he shared of battling terminal cancer. The Leicestershire-born host was the longest-serving presenter with Jasmine Harman on A Place In The Sun from 2004 until 2021.
