MoneySign Suede has died after being reportedly stabbed in the showers at a California prison on Tuesday evening.

According to Yahoo!  a young Los Angeles rapper, known by his stage name as MoneySign Suede, has died after being reportedly stabbed in the showers at a California prison on Tuesday evening. The incident took place at the Correctional Training Facility located in Soledad, where the renowned name Brugada was transferred to this facility after being convicted and sentenced in Riverside County in December of the previous year for two counts of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

Rapper Moneysign Suede has died after being reportedly stabbed in the showers at a California prison on Tuesday evening.

Born as Jaime Brugada Valdez, the rapper originally hailed from Huntington Park in California. He had garnered a significant amount of support from fans and other artists in the weeks before his death, with many calling for his release from prison through social media posts. "People are very horrified," said Nicholas Rosenberg, Valdez's lawyer. "He was a very famous guy, very well-mannered. People adored him."

The media personality was found unresponsive just before 10 p.m. on Tuesday when officers discovered that he was not in his cell during a regular count. He was later found "with injuries consistent with a homicide," according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. The attack was reportedly a stabbing in the neck, and an investigation is now being launched by the prison's Investigative Services Unit and the Monterey County district attorney's office.

The killing took place in a section of the prison that houses general population inmates, as per a prisoner who spoke with the LA Times. News of the death broke on Wednesday, and fans and artists took to social media to remember the young Mexican-American rapper. "LONGLIVESUEDE," said the Los Angeles-based artist Peysoh, in one Instagram post.

The rapper was only 22 years old at the time of his death, as reported by TMZ. The tragic incident has left many in shock, with condolences pouring in for the young artist and his loved ones.

Moreover,  MoneySign joined Atlantic Records in 2021 and released his most recent album titled "Parkside Baby" in September of the same year. The Correctional Training Facility in Soledad, California, where he was serving his sentence, houses over 4,000 prisoners with varying degrees of security.
