Avril Lavigne and her fiancee of ten months, Mod Sun, are no longer together. Lavigne and the fellow pop-punk musician announced their engagement in April 2022 after over a year of dating. Fans have since turned suspicious as the Sk8er Boi crooner was recently spotted out and about with rapper Tyga. Although it's still too early to comprehend what was brewing and what went down between the engaged couple, reps assure there was no third party involved, ruling out the idea of infidelity.  
 
"Avril and Tyga are genuinely friends and nothing more. There was absolutely no third party involved in the split," an insider said. Another source revealed that the Girlfriend hitmaker and Sun had been on and off for a while but have finally decided to put a break on their bumpy relationship. A rep for Mod, 35, however, argued saying that the musician is out on a tour and any change in the duo's relationship is solely Lavigne's move.

"They were together and engaged as of three days ago when Mod left for the tour so if anything has changed that's news to him," Sun's rep said, adding, "Mod will be performing tonight in Portland at The Hawthorne Theater." The rep further cleared that Mod might be blind-sighted that hurt by the news but won't let it affect his tour.  
 
Sun, whose real name is Derek Smith, kicked off the tour in February to promote his album, God Save The Teen, which also features his now ex-fiancee, Lavigne. The pop-punk musicians met in January 2021 and got engaged in Paris in March 2022. "Yes! I love you forever," Lavigne wrote while sharing a snippet of their ideal proposal, to which Sun commented, "love you so much, forever and ever my angel."

Sun recently gushed about Avril in a recent interview. "I have found such a partner in this world to go through the chaos that life gives you," the Minnesota-born singer said. Smith adds, "I have found that person. I'm with a real grown woman who has gone through it all 10 times over and she makes me a better person." Sun also shares his dreams of starting a family with the Canadian singer."This is the first time in my life that I've started to think about defining success in that way. I want to grow old. I want to be a dad and then I want to be a grandpa," Sun shared.

Sun was previously in an infamous polyamorous relationship with internet personality Tana Mongeau and actress Bella Thorne. The Karma crooner allegedly married and divorced Thorne during their tumultuous relationship. It would have been Lavigne's third marriage, had she gone on to tie the knot with Sun. The singer married guitarist Deryck Whibley in 2006 and filed for divorce in 2009. Avril was married to fellow Canadian musician Chad Kroeger from 2013 to 2015.
