Bob Geldof in a relationship or not. Who might be his wife?
What has Bob Geldof gone through after the death of his long time wife Paula Yates? Is Bob finally ready to start a loving relationship or things have gone much further?
Bob Geldof was the front man for the late '70s to mid-'80s Irish punk rock band the Boomtown Rats. He also conceived and co-wrote Band Aid's tune "Do They Know It's Christmas?" with musician Midge Ure of Ultravox, which became the 1984 Christmas number one in the UK and the best-selling British pop single until that time. Band-Aid later evolved into Live Aid (1985), the first international real-time concert, broadcast across the globe for two days. Band Aid and Live Aid (1985) were created to bring relief to the starving in Ethiopia.
It was surely the loss of his mother, suddenly and unexpectedly, when he was just seven years old, that most shaped Geldof’s character and life. Emotions buried deep then surged terribly forth later on, when his beloved wife, Paula Yates, left him in 1995 for a man he considered a friend, rock star Michael Hutchence, now both Yates and Hutchence are dead, and Geldof assuming custody of their daughter, Tiger Lily, to raise alongside his own daughters, Fifi, Peaches, and Pixie.
Geldof announced his engagement to Jeanne Marine, his partner of 18 years, on 1 May 2014, and they married in France on 28 April 2015 after 19 years of being in a relationship.
When asked about Jeanne, Bob said he was fortunate to have found someone he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.
"I wasn’t looking for it [love]. I’m so lucky, someone is looking after me. It was an improbable encounter between… a stunning, beautiful woman and a ruined, ruined man.
"Why did she like me? It is a late realization for the ageing Geldof that all humans are loveable. I love her. I thought I would never get this again," Bob said in an interview.
Seems like Bob Geldof is ultimately in a happy relation and the marriage seems to be going well till now.
