Gone Too Soon; Model Turned Rapper Chynna Rogers Dead At 25
Chynna Rogers whose stage name was Chynna passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at the young age of twenty-five.
The news of Brooklyn-based rapper death was confirmed by her manager John Miller. In the statement released to various news outlets, he stated:
“I can regrettably confirm Chynna passed away. Rest In Peace Chynna. Heartbroken. All the love to those she left behind. Goodbye angel"
Miller also informed that she passed on Wednesday at her Pennslyvania home. He, however, did not reveal the cause of death or provided any information on a funeral.
The speculations regarding her death are going on, and many believe she might be suffering from depression, especially given the current situation. People reached this conclusion based on one of the posts shared by the late rapper in late March. In the post, Chynna wrote:
"ATTENTION i miss you. i miss humans. i miss the flow of the universe. i made a lil sumn pre-quarantine to satisfy these cravings. attention, off in case i die first, seems to hold new meaning. shows or no shows, i'll do my best to create art & stay connected. with love, wash your hands,"
Also, the twenty-five years old in her final Instagram post on Tuesday mentioned that there are too many soundtracks to our lives but she needs music to die to.
Sadly none of Chynna's fans took her statement on death seriously as the artist is known to write music on the theme of death. Some of her most notable death-related songs include," music 2 die 2" and "in case i die first"
The former ASAP Mob member also has been very vocal about her drug addictions and rehab. However, she had mentioned that being open about her drug addiction was nerve-wracking, and the only reason she shared her experience was that she wanted to set an example. She has said that her mother's death pushed her to stay sober.
Chynna started her career as a model and was signed to Ford Models when she was just 14 yrs old. Soon she became friends with A$AP Mob founder A$AP Yams, who pursued her to try a career in music.
The Philadelphia native took the suggestion of the late A$AP Yams and entered the music industry. Soon she started getting sucess with songs such as "Selfie", "Glen Coco," and "I'm Not Here. This Isn't Happening EP."
Artists and fans all around the world are shocked and are reacting to her death. Singer-songwriter Kehlani, Dom McLendon, Gianni Lee, and many more remembered Chynna in their own way.
