Albania's president Bajram Begaj said Dua Lipa was granted citizenship ahead of Albania's 110th anniversary of Independence. Dua is the 2019 Grammy award-winning singer for the best new artist.
On Sunday, November 27, the Grammy award-winning British pop star Dua Lipa got Albanian citizenship from the country's president, Bajram Begaj. Lipa's citizenship comes ahead of Albania's 110th anniversary of independence from the Ottoman Empire.

The English singer arrived in the city of Tirana's central Skanderbeg Square ahead of her concert that she will perform to commemorate Independence Day.
Updating the daily life to her 87.4 million IG followers, the artist flaunted in a blue tartan patterned dress that she matched with white knee-high boots and a bag to pair, as per The Guardian. The president praised Dua, of Albanian origin, for broadening the nation's popularity through her song.

Dua was born and grew up in London in 1995 to immigrant Albanian parents, Anesa Lipa and Dukagjin Lipa.
