Dylan Mulvaney Has Eventually Comeback To Social Media Following Facing Serious Outrage Online To Bud Light Transgender Backlash
After facing intense online backlash for promoting a brand deal with Bud Light, social media influencer Dylan Mulvaney has returned to social media. Mulvaney acknowledged the hate she received, calling it a "full-circle moment," but stated that she is still standing strong despite the noise.
According to New York Post, Social media influencer Dylan Mulvaney has recently spoken out against the online hate she received for promoting a brand deal with Bud Light, which sparked a backlash from conservatives. Mulvaney, who has been documenting her transition on TikTok since March 2022, shared a video on the app in which she addressed the dehumanization and cruelty she has faced.
Although the media personality did not mention Bud Light by name, her message was clear: “Dehumanization has never fixed anything in history, ever.” Her Instagram post promoting a Bud Light March Madness contest with her face on a can of beer caused outrage from conservative politicians and celebrities, resulting in a boycott of the beer. Sales slumped, and the CEO of Anheuser-Busch, Brendan Whitworth, put out a statement saying the company “never intended to be part of a discussion that divides people.” Two Anheuser-Busch marketing executives were later put on a leave of absence.
In her TikTok video, Dylan opened up about her struggles with dehumanization and cruelty, particularly as someone who grew up in a conservative family and church. Despite being embarrassed to have to address the negative comments, she is choosing to focus on the support from those who know her and her heart. She also expressed interest in sharing other parts of herself on social media that are not related to her identity.
The controversy surrounding Mulvaney's post occurred amid ongoing Republican proposals for anti-trans laws across the country, with 469 anti-LGBTQ bills currently in the U.S. In an interview with Variety in March, the lady encouraged young trans kids in states like Tennessee, where anti-trans bills are prevalent, to keep following their true selves and identities.

The attacks against Mulvaney are part of a larger pattern of discrimination and bigotry towards the trans community, particularly in conservative circles. However, Mulvaney's decision to speak out and share her experiences can help raise awareness and push back against these harmful attitudes.
Also, the star's message of rejecting dehumanization is particularly important at a time when so many lawmakers and public figures are working to marginalize and disenfranchise the trans community. Hopefully, her courage and resilience can inspire others to stand up against hate and intolerance.
