Securities refused Diplo Entry to Cannes party after he was Unrecognized

Diplo, who has a decorated career with three Grammy Awards, was refused entry into the Cannes party; he was hired to DJ by the security. He uploaded a clip that shows him getting refused access to the Festival bash on a luxury yacht.

A three-time Grammy-winning artist, Diplo, shared a video on Monday showing him getting refused access to the Festival bash on a luxury yacht. Diplo was declined entry to a Cannes Film Festival party.

"I was booked to DJ a yacht party in Cannes, but security wouldn't let me in. The yacht was empty, so I was about to take the L and go get food," Diplo noted in the clip's caption on Instagram.

The DJ was called to perform, following security guards failing to recognize him, and his name wasn't present on the guestlist. "Luckily, the owner was walking by and let me in," the musician continued. 

Further, the video showed a woman inside the event trying to help Diplo get into the party, but the security wasn't convinced."Next time, I'm adding myself to the guest list," Diplo jokingly said, telling about his ordeal in the video. Diplo was at Cannes supporting the new Elvis Presley biopic 'Elvis,' which features his music on the soundtrack.

Despite being one of the most famous DJs globally, Diplo had trouble getting into a party. The 43-year old whose real name is Thomas Wesley Pentz tried to explain that the yacht owner hired him while getting turned away.

Speaking of his well-decorated career, he received best dance recording for 'Where Are U Now' and next to Best Dance/ Electronic Album for 'Skrillex And Diplo Present Jack U' in 2016.

Before the DJ emerged on the Palomino stage in May 2022, celestial nuzzling built anticipation as festivalgoers awaited the final performance of Stagecoach 2022. Diplo took the stage in the dark with a fringed jean jacket and bandana, frame by two semicircles studded with outwardly beaming white lights.

Country music isn't the only genre on the menu as Diplo played Daddy Yankee's Gasolina and later moved into a hip-hop segment featuring Fetty Wap's hit number 679. During the festival closing act, which features Day 2 headliner's final number- Carrie Underwood's 'Before He cheats' started with a beat.

The June 10 to 12 Splash House lineup is also in, and there won't be played Cold Water in the hotel pools with Diplo ahead. The concert is set to expand to a triple-weekend event with the June Festival and two more editions on mid of August.
