Sesame Street Original Cast Member Bob McGrath No More, Died at 90
Rest in power; Bob McGrath peacefully died Sunday at his home in New Jersey at the age of 90. During his time as the original human star of "Sesame Street."
Bob McGrath, an actor, and recording artist, was a generational icon best known as an original cast member of Sesame Street. He passed away on Sunday at his home in Jersey. The late tv star was ninety years old.
As per CNN, the daughter confirmed McGrath's passing through the family's Facebook page that he died due to complications from a stroke. "The McGrath family has some sad news to share. Our father, Bob McGrath, passed away today. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his family," the message confirmed.
Also, Sesame Workshop shared a statement mourning the beloved member of the Sesame Street family for over 50 years, "Bob embodied the melodies of Sesame Street like no one else, and his performance brought joy and wonder to generations of children around the world, whether teaching them in the ABCs."
The post continued," The people in their neighborhood, or the simple joy of feeling the music in their hearts. A revered performer worldwide, Bob's rich tenor fille airwaves and concert halls from Las Vegas to Saskatchewan to Tokyo many times over."
Talking about his fantastic career, Bob debuted in the series pilot in 1969 in the role of friendly neighbor Bob Johnsons. The show will be forever grateful for his many years of passionate, creative contributions to Sesame Street and honored that he shared so much of his life with the cast.

Not to miss, McGrath got a chance to appear in several holiday specials, video games, standalone street films, and singalongs. After five decades and 47 seasons of broadcast television, he was having concluded with his episode titled "Having a Ball." in 2017.
However, Bob continued to make a public appearance at various events on "Sesame Street." Born in Ottawa II, Mr. Bob attended the University of Michigan to study music and joined the Manhattan School of Music afterward. He took his talents on tour in Japan, where he found a teenage fanbase.
Apart from acting, McGrath served for original songs such as "People in Your Neighbourhood," "Sing a Song," "If You're Happy and You Know It," and also the show's theme songs. Till now, no memorial plans have been disclosed. The survivors are a wife and his children.
