After Hazel ended its run in 1966, Buntrock continued acting, making guest appearances on shows like The Virginian. He then decided to retire from acting in 1967, aged 15.

Personal Life and Tragic Passing

During his later years, Buntrock relocated to Keystone, South Dakota, where he became a permanent resident along with his family. Sadly, on April 7, 1974, Buntrock died at the young age of 21 in an automobile accident when his car went off a bridge over Battle Creek and he drowned.
