A talented and renowned neuroscientist and psychologist from Norway. She contributed to the discovery of grid cells in the brain along with her husband which helped scientists to gain new insight into cognitive processes. She was raised on a farm in the remote western region area of Norway. She attended University of Oslo where she studied mathematics, neurobiology, and psychology. In starting of her career she worked with her husband in laboratory of Norwegian researcher Per Oskar Andersen. She was also professors in psychology and neuroscience at NTNU. She along her husband and John O'Keefe were honored with the 2014 Nobel prize in Physiology or Medicine.
Regarding her personal life, she is already married with her love of life with whom she studied in same high school. Though they used to study in same high school, they became close only after they met in University of Oslo. Since then they studied together, worked together and are living their life together. Together they are parents of two beautiful daughters.
