Chris Hansen is a well recognized American journalist known for his work with Dateline NBC’s, To Catch a Predator. He is a hardworking and successful journalist who made his notable reports on the main incidents such as Oklahoma City terrorist attack, TWA Flight 800 and many others.
Early Life and Education
Christopher Edward Hansen most known as Chris Hansen was born on September 13, 1959, in Lansing, Michigan, United States of America. He was raised in northern Detroit.
Hansen did his schooling from Brother Rice High School in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. He attended Michigan State University College of Communication Arts and Science and earned bachelor’s degree in telecommunication. He was interested in journalism from an early age of 14.
Career
Chris began his career as a reporter for Lansing NBC affiliate WILX in 1981. He then reported for different stations including WILX, WFLA, and WDIV. Hansen joined NBC in 1993 as a correspondent for the news magazine ‘Now with Tom Brokaw and Katie Couric.' After 20 years with NBC, he left the channel in 2013.
Hansen’s fame rose to prominence from his notable work in ‘Dateline NBC.' He was also an investigative reporter covering major topics like Columbine massacre, The Oklahoma City Terrorist attack, the Unabomber, Indian child slave labor, Counterfeit prescription drug sales in China and many others.
Besides that, Chris has made appearances in various TV shows such as The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Today, The Adam Carolla Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Opie and Anthony Radio Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
In 2015 Hansen announced about releasing an independent TV show entitled Hansen Vs Predator. The show's first episode released on September 12, 2016. In the same year, he hosted the show Crime Watch Daily. As of 2017, he was seen in two TV series Killer Instinct with Chris Hansen and WGN Morning News.
Throughout his career journey, Hansen has received several awards including three Clarion Awards, seven Emmy Awards, four Edward R Murrow Awards, an IRE, an Overseas Press Club Award and many others.
