British actor as well as a comedian, Daniel Rigby is known for portraying the character of Eric Morecambe in 2011 television film, Eric, and Ernie, and also won BAFTA TV Award for Best Actor. Early life and Education of Daniel Rigby
Daniel Rigby was born on 6th December 1982 in Cheadle Hulme, Greater Manchester, England. He is British and belongs to the Caucasian race.
Rigby joined the Cheadle Hulme School and studied performing arts at the Stockport College. He then graduated from Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 2004.

After his graduation, Daniel Rigby started working in theatre, television, and film. He appeared in 2004 play, Hamlet, which was his first stage performance. He then performed in two theater play, The Burial at Thebes, and A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Rigby debuted in the silver screen through the 2006 war drama film, Flyboys as Ives. The next year, he acted in British period-drama television series, Lilies, starring Kerrie Hayes, Catherine Tyldesley, Leanne Rowe among others.
Rigby won BAFTA TV Award for Best Actor for his performances in 2011 television film, Eric, and Ernie, as Eric Morecambe. In the movie, he shares the screen with Victoria Wood, Bryan Dick, Reece Shearsmith, Jim Moir, and others.
After winning the award, when asked where he keeps his awards, he said in an interview,
I keep it in my bedroom, on a shelf. I think you're supposed to be very cool about it and say "I keep it in a box and I never get it out," or "I keep it in a wardrobe," but I don't do that. I do keep it out on a shelf!
Rigby worked in numerous television series which includes, From There to Here, Agatha Christie's Marple, Undercover, Jericho, and many more. He also narrates in British television series, Teletubbies.
In 2011, Rigby was honored with Manchester Theatre Awards under best actor for his performance in Breaking the Code as Alan Turing at the Royal Exchange, Manchester. Some of his stage credits are The White Album, Beyond The Front Line, The Count of Monte Cristo, and among others.
Rigby starred in 2013 British science fiction anthology television series, Black Mirror, and once in an interview, he revealed why he accepted the role of Jamie Salter. He said,
I've read his columns for years, and have long been an admirer of his. It was great to work with a comedy hero. It's a funny script, and I think it also expresses how a lot of people feel about politics, which is to say largely indifferent.
