Her TV career encompasses World of Dance, So You Think You Can Dance, and winning on Dancing with the Stars in season 30 with Iman Shumpert, for which she received a nomination for a Primetime Emmy. Married to Pashkov since 2014, the two run a wedding dance school and recently welcomed their daughter, Nikita. Daniella's story is but one example of her determination, hard work, and what happens when a dream is chased.
A Life of Love, Dance, and Family
Daniella Karagach married Pasha Pashkov in July 2014. The two met in 2009 through their dance coaches and started dating shortly after Karagach's 16th birthday. They have a wedding dance school program where they can share their love of dance with other couples.
In November 2022, the couple announced they were expecting their first child, and on May 30, 2023, they welcomed their daughter, Nikita. This further brought them closer to the new joy of parenthood, coupled with professional fulfillment in life.
The Early Steps of a Dance Legend
Daniella Brittany Karagach Pashkova was born on 26 December 1992 in Brooklyn, New York, to Moldovan Jewish immigrants Mark and Regina Yvette Karagach, née Gershkovich. Her parents divorced when she was one year old. She grew up primarily with her mother, first in the Forest Hills neighborhood and later in the Bath Beach neighborhood of New York. She has a stepsister from her mom's second marriage. Karagach started with ballet when she was three years old and then started taking Latin dance classes when she was seven.
At age six, she was diagnosed with a high case of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, but her mom chose not to put her on medication, instead enrolling her in ballroom dance classes where she found her niche and started excelling in academics.

Educational Foundations
She attended Franklin Delano Roosevelt High School and then went to the College of Staten Island, where she studied childhood education. Of course, none of this would serve directly for her future dance career, but it gave her a good foundation and helped her develop her skills that were beneficial in the future.
Such a balance in academics and dancing created a foundation for her multilateral career in the future.
A Dazzling Dance Career
Beginning her career at age eleven in dance school, she was partnered with Leonid Juashkovsky. They went on to become three-time USA Dance Junior I and II Latin Champions and representatives to numerous international competitions representing the U.S. By January 2009, she was paired with Pavel "Pasha" Pashkov. They represented the USA at the 2009 World Games in Taiwan. Karagach and Pashkov are seven-time U.S. 10-Dance Champions and Latin Champions.
Their additional prestigious titles include the 2017 Blackpool Dance Festival Rising Star Professional Championship and the 2018 U.S. Latin American Showdance Championship. The partners have been highly successful both on and off the dance floor.
Stepping into the Spotlight: Television Career
Karagach competed on season two of World of Dance in 2018, alongside Pashkov, and later choreographed for So You Think You Can Dance in 2022. She was a professional dancer on Dancing with the Stars season 28; she initially joined the show's troupe. For season 29, she paired with rapper and singer Nelly and placed third.
Her breakout season came in season 30 when paired with basketball player Iman Shumpert, and they took the competition, making him the first-ever NBA champ to win. Her work this season landed her a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Choreography, proof she was indeed a gifted and creative choreographer.
