How's The Married Life Of Debra Janelle Jeter?

Debra Janelle Jeter gained popularity after her horrendous act of intent of killing her two children. She was previously married to Lester Jeter and had two children, Kiersten Jeter, and Kelsey Jeter. Sadly their love story didn't end as one would expect. The date of their wedding is not known. In May 2009, Lester filed for a split from Debra.

What happened was difficult for Debra to accept. Mr. Lester had filed for a divorce while Jeter was still kept in the mental health facility and he asked for full custody of their children. Consequently, Debra attempted to commit suicide in front of her two kids.

Well, Debra was admitted to a mental health facility shortly after the event for treatment. Her spouse got temporary custody of their kids during her brief stay and obtained a non-permanent restraining order against her thinking she would harm the girls.

Reportedly, Debta was upset about her extended divorce battle and dispute over their custody. Her spouse talked about Debra admitting that Jeter thought sharing everybody's pain was the best way for her to control any situation. What was the main reason behind the separation is still a mystery.

As of 2023, her ex-husband seems to be married again while Debra is currently serving a sentence in a Texas Department of Criminal Justice Prison facility located in Gatesville. Nothing much is disclosed about who Debra was before she went to prison for murder. So what happened? 

Why Was Debra Janelle Jeter Imprisoned?

On June 5, 2009, she had a scheduled visit for the first with her daughters after a 15-day of a restraining order. Unfortunately, this would be an event that placed two vulnerable young girls' lives in danger. Debra picked up her daughters from her dad, claiming to have a surprise for them.

The same day, Debra made a chilling 911 call to confess to physically attacking her children to even the scores with her former husband. Debra had taken both of her kids to an abandoned house in rural Texas and attacked Kiersten the Kelsey with a knife

"One of them is dead. She's dead. But the other one wants to be saved. She's asking to be saved, and I couldn't handle that. She's bled out a lot. She might die," Jeter cried out on the phone. She told her being unarmed and only had a cell phone in her hand.

 Speaking of which Kiersten made it out alive but Kelsey died of the injury. The police had to act instantaneously and took her to the hospital where she was fighting for her dear life. She was a nurse but she didn't choose to attend to her daughter, Kiersten who was fighting for her dear life.

The incident took place, a day after Debra got released from the facility. A judge removed the prohibition on Debra to let her see her children on an unsupervised visit. She was previously, transferred to a mental health center in 2004 when she mistreated her child as per Sun UK.

Debra Janelle Jeter became the talk of the town when she brutally killed one of her daughters and put down another one with the intent to murder her too. And the major question the fans are asking includes her whereabouts and whether is she still alive.

There is no solid proof of her death and is reportedly serving her jail time. Her exact net worth is also not known. For Debra's deeds, there was murder and attempted murder charges against her. Debra pleaded guilty to both charges in May 2010 and agreed to a plea agreement for a bargain to spend the rest of her life in prison, with no parole. 

Precisely, the Hill Country woman became free from a potential death sentence. Thanks to a plea deal, even her daughter, Kiersten got prohibited from testifying about her mother's cruelty. Talking about the incident, she had slashed two young girls' throats mercilessly.

What's more, Kristen who was stabbed in the back begged for her life while trying to protect her sister from the vicious attack. After surviving the life-threatening attack at the hands of her mother, Kristen now lives a secretive life away from the attention of the media. 

Well, Kristen is available on her Instagram to handle with the username @kiersy with 474 followers and over 100 posts. However, she has kept it in private mode. "She was beautiful, deep down to her soul. If you don't know me please don't try to follow me," her bio reads.
