Eliot Spitzer is an American politician who served as the 54th Governor of New York. He was born to mother Anne (née Goldhaber), an English literature professor, and father Bernard Spitzer, a real estate mogul. Eliot completed his schooling from Horace Mann School and went to Princeton University graduating with a mojor in Public and International Affairs. Following the eight-year term as Attorney General of New York, Spitzer was elected governor in 2006 succeeding the three-term incumbent, George Pataki. Later, Spitzer was involved in a prostitution scandal that led to his resignation.
After the resignation as a governor, Eliot Spitzer hosted a short-lived program, Viewpoint with Eliot Spitzer on Current TV. Spitzer attempted a return to politics running for New York City Comptroller, but lost the Democratic primary to Scott Stringer. Now, he is a financial technology investor and serves on the board of TipRanks. Eliot is married to Silda Wall, and American businesswoman and lawyer, and has three children with her; all of them daughters.
