Early Life and Career
Francisco Javier Rodriguez was born Francisco Javier Rodriguez Pinedo on 20 October 1981. He was raised in Mazatlan by his father Francisco Rodriguez and Maria Magdalena Pinedo.
He made his professional debut for Guadalajara with his appearance in Apertura 2002 tournament. He played a vital role for the club in winning the final second-leg match against Toluca during Apertura 2006. The Chivas won their eleventh league championship after winning the match.
In 2008 Rodriguez transferred to Dutch club PSV Eindhoven, the second Mexican in the reserve squad with Carlos Salcido for USD $1.8 million. On 25 November he bagged his first goal with a 30-yard shot against Heracles Almelo.
Later on, Francisco was given the Jersey number 4 that was previously owned by Manuel da Costa. He also earned the starting spot as the center back for both the Eredivisie and the Europa.
Francisco signed three years contract with VfB Stuttgart on 14th July 2011. He then made his appearance in the match against Schalke 04 where is team won the game.
Afterward, Rodriguez was transferred to América on 2nd January 2013 and then to Cruz Azul on 4th June 2014.
