He is an American biochemist and cell biologist who is Professor of Bio-medical Sciences at Yale University. He is also Chairman of the Department of Cell Biology at Yale School of Medicine. In 1967, he graduated from the ivy academia and he obtained B.A. in physics from Yale University. He has got doctorate in biological chemistry from Harvard University. He started his career working in Department of Biochemistry at Stanford University. He has been awarded with the 2013 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. He is currently working as professor of physiology and cellular biophysics at Columbia University.
Exploring about his personal life, he is a happily married man. Though he has not disclosed a lot of information about his wife and children in an interview he told that she is very supportive and she has always been a source of inspiration for him.
