Janet McTeer is an English actress, best-known for portraying Nora in "A Doll's House". She is the daughter of Jean and Allan McTeer. McTeer graduated from Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). She started her acting career on stage by joining the Royal Exchange Theatre and made her professional stage debut in 1984, in the film "The Grace of Mary Traverse", for which she was nominated for the Olivier Award for Best Newcomer.
