James O’Heir, better known as Jim O’Heir, is an American actor and comedian. He is famous for his role Jerry Gergich on American political comedy television sitcom, Park and Recreation created by Greg Daniels. He made a guest appearance in shows like Friends Boston Legal, Malcolm in the Middle, Star Trek: Voyager, 3rd Rock from the Sun, ER, and Parenthood.
Early Life
Born on 4th February 1962, Jim O’Heir grew up in Chicago, Illinois, United States. His birth name is James O’Heir. He studied at Thornton Fractional South High School in Lansing and completed a degree from Loyola University Chicago.
During the period, he was active in the Chicago Theater from the late 1980s and early 1990s, taking training and performing comedy at Chicago Second City and as a member of the six-person sketch comedy troupe, White Noise, in 1987. They have written and produced comedy plays that often employed bizarre humor or black comedy.
In 1988, he appeared in the White Nose’s production, The Book of Blanche, which is about a woman who falls through a television screen and ends up in a fantasy world influenced by various television show genres.
The following year he was seen in the Chicago premiere of the Tom Griffin play, The Boys Next Door at the Edgewater Theater Centre, where he portrayed the character of Norman Bulansky, a childlike middle aged mentally handicapped man who works at a doughnut shop.
He even appeared in Stumpy’s Gang, a one-act black comedy play by Patrick Cannon, in 1990, which was held at Stage Left and Strawdog Theater. He has portrayed the character of Frank Bubman, the janitor for a genetics laboratory.
After playing several roles in theater, he made television debut from Harvey, a fantasy-comedy movie directed by George Schaefer and in sports comedy movie, ED, directed by Bill Couturie in 1996. The same year, he was seen in the TV series Party of Five, ER, 3rd Rock from the Sun, and Pearl.
Later, he appeared in several TV series and movies, but his supporting role in the NBC comedy series, Parks and Recreation, received a positive response from the viewers. He played a small role in the first season, but in the second season landed a bigger role.
Apart from this, he played a lead role in a television movie, My Santa, directed by Sam Irvin in 2013 and played ensemble horror/action comedy indie movie, Range 15, directed by Ross Patterson.
Moreover, he has voiced the character of Aiden on Harvey Beaks and General Plague on Dr. Havoc’s Diary in 2016 and in 2017 respectively, he appeared in Speechless, The Thundermans, Superior Donuts, A Moving Romance, Bill Nye Saves the World and Mommy, I Don’t Do It.

The Park and Recreation star, Jim has a pretty awesome and romantic married life on on-screen but in real life, he has no girlfriend and is single. According to the sources, he is gay but with no evidence, he is probably straight.
He has kept his personal life private and out of the spotlight. In February 2015, he was spotted kissing his co-star, Aubrey Plaza after party on Late Night with Seth Meyers but the couple is not dating each other.
