He started his career on the daytime soap operas All My Children and As the World Turns. An American actor Lamman Rucker is well known for his role as Jacob Greenleaf in the “Oprah Winfrey Network” drama series “Greenleaf." He was raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Malaya and Eric Rucker. He belongs to African-American ethnicity and holds American nationality.
The 45-years-old Rucker was in the drama club in the seventh grade and after then studied high school at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, D.C. After high school, he studied at Carnegie-Mellon University and Duquesne University.
As a child, he had a keen interest in acting and made his debut as Martin Luther King in fourth grade.
Television Career
In 2002, Rucker played the role of attorney T. Marshall Travers on the CBS daytime soap opera “As the World Turns” with Tamara Tunie. In 2003, he left the series and depicted Garret Williams on ABC soap opera “All My Children” in 2005.
He also cast the recurring roles on the UPN sitcoms “Half & Half” and “All of Us." He starred as the lead in the Oprah Winfrey Network drama series, “Greenleaf” in 2015.
Films Career
Lamman is well known for his parts in the Tyler Perry’s movies. He co-starred in “Why Did I Get Married?” in 2007, and “Why Did I Get Married Too?” in 2010. In 2008, he played Will Brown in the film “Meet The Browns." He later had a featuring role on Perry’s sitcom “Meet the Browns” reprising his role as Will Brown from 2009 to 2011 where he worked with Lavan Davis.
In 2012, Lamman starred opposite Anne Heche in the NBC comedy series “Save Me," although, he was let go after the pilot episode. After that, he had roles in several small films and television movies. He also had a regular role in the short-lived WE TV drama series, “South of Hell.”

The Greenleaf actor, Rucker is still unmarried, but he is not single though. He is dating Denise Boutte, co-star of “Why Did I Get Married?” since 2007. Although both of them have not confirmed their relationship yet, they have posted a lot of photos together.
