An american distinguished Service Professor of economics at the University of Chicago who is widely known as internationally known leader in economic dynamics. He graduated from Utah State University taking major B.S. Mathematics and Political Science. In 1978 he completed Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Minnesota. He started his career working as assistant and associate professor at Carnegie Mellon University. He is currently serving as David Rockefeller Distinguished Service Professor in Economics. He was awarded with the 2013 Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences.
