Leana de Bruin is a South African-born New Zealand international netball player. She made her on-court debut for the Silver Ferns in 2003 and went on to represent New Zealand at the Commonwealth Games and Netball World Championships, playing in the goal defence and goalkeeper positions. Bruin has carved her name in the annals of New Zealand’s netball history as one of the great defenders to take the court in the black dress.
Leana de Bruin married her longtime boyfriend Quinton de Bruin in 2004. However, their married life didn't go well and ended their relationship with a divorce in 2011. The couple has been blessed with one baby boy named Caleb de Bruin. Currently, Leana is living a single mother life, raising her son and told the Women's Daily, "I'm happy being single".
