Leila McKinnon is an Australian journalist. McKinnon is a reporter and fill-in presenter for Nine News and A Current Affairs. She has previously co-host of Weekend Today. She also serves as a panelist on the NRL Footy Show and as a book reviewer for the Australian Women’s weekly. McKinnon graduated in journalism from the Queensland University of Technology. Leila’s career started while she was in her university as a part-time reporter for The Sunday Telegraph based in Brisbane. McKinnon was born to an English mother and a News Zealand father, while her father was working as service manager to the late Shah of Iran’s fleet of vehicles. Leila has been part of 2010 Winter Olympics, reporting on floods of Queensland which had killed 35 people in the disaster zone, Royal Wedding in 2011 of Hate Middleton and Prince William etc.
Leila is married to David Gyngell since 11 December 2004. This couple has two children; son and a daughter.
