American statesman and lawyer, Leon Panetta worked in the Obama administration as Director of the Central Intelligence Agency from 2009 to 2011. He is the son of Carmelina Maria (Prochilo) and Carmelo Frank Panetta. Leon graduated magna cum laude in 1960 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. In 1969, he became the assistant to Robert H. Finch, Secretary of the United States Department of Health, and Welfare under the Nixon administration. He also serves on a number of boards and commissions
